iPhone and FM Radio

Today’s mobile phones are not just phones, they are much more! The iPhone is certainly a lot more than a basic cell phone. It is a phone, an MP3 player, a digital camera, a video capture device, a gaming device, a GPS device to name a few. It’s basically a cool multimedia communication tool.

This miracle device has everything but an FM radio. Long before all this technology, people listened to their radios and portable transistors, followed by those big boom-boxes. Then came the little Sony Walkman, and people got used to listening to their audio without disturbing those around, and these were easy to take to all places like the mall, the beach etc. Gone were the days of carrying those boom boxes around. Small was good, and so was the personal device.  The radio still continues to have a big following, in spite of CDs and MP3 players.

Why not have a FM radio on the iPhone. We carry it everywhere; hook the car stereo to it too, so why not have radio on the iPhone! Guess the users for this might not be as many.

Need a hard case for your iPhone?

For those who are known to break cell phones often, or at least drop them frequently, dropping your new iPhone might be a more expensive issue compared to whatever cheaper gadgets you misused and destroyed in the past. Such folks should get a case for their new iPhone as the first accessory.

There are many types of cases to choose from, but hard cases are a very good option. You can get metal or plastic cases. Most come with a tailor-fitted form with openings for the side buttons, speakers, camera etc and so allows you to use your phone functions normally. They are easy to put on as they usually just snap on. Make sure the case you buy doesn’t allow the screen the screen protectors to lift so you don’t have to keep using new protectors frequently. Get one that won’t add bulk to your iPhone in terms of weight and size. Some of the polycarbonate ones are better to grip and hence reduced the chance of the device slipping. Check to see if your case is right for the docking station you have. Try one with a secure clip. You can apply a full body skin for the iPhone to prevent any scratching while snapping the case on.

With hard cases too you can get a more personalized feel with all the colors and patterns they come in these days. The price is also very reasonable for most and can be very cheap for some of the plastic and polycarbonate cases.
